The Great Gathering of Chefs took place at the Prince George Ballroom on Tuesday, September 28th. There were 132 chefs in attendance to eat Katz’s pastrami, drink Goose Island beer, see their friends and sign some books. Sales of the books benefit Action Against Hunger. Some of the more recognizable chefs were David Burke, Ed Brown, Paul Liebrandt, Cesare Casella, Anita Lo, Brad Steelman, Christopher Lee, Jennifer Yee and Dominique Ansal. Drew Nieporent & Bob Lape were on hand also. After the signing we had to switch over the room for the tasting (which is normally a nightmare, but went so smooth it was scary). Sur de France paired wines with 20 restaurants that include Mesa Grill, Spice Market, Quattro, Bagatelle, Ed’s Chowder House, Park Avenue Fall, The General Greene, Negril, Tamarind, The Sea Grill, Trump Bar & Grill, Artisinal, En, Dos Caminos,Barbounia, Vita Mix & Madison Bistro. The food & wine were outstanding.
