The Bar at Uchū
The Bar at Uchū, on Manhattan’s Lower East Side, offers two options: a 10-seat Sushi Bar and an 8-seat Kaiseki Counter/Japanese Whisky Bar.
Uchū Sushi Bar brings an utterly transportive traditional Japanese dining experience. Upon crossing the threshold, guests leave behind the bustling city and are welcomed to a serene oasis to be served an incomparable tasting menu prepared by legendary Chef Eiji Ichimura, featuring the finest ingredients and highest quality fish. The minimalist décor of Uchū Sushi Bar harkens back to classic Japanese design, allowing our tasting menu to be the focus of the guest experience. The subtle tones and fresh floral accouterments ensconce you within our tranquil environment, preparing guests for the premier dining experience that awaits.
Uchū Kaiseki Counter is the complementary inverse of Uchū Sushi Bar, offering to guests avant-garde reinterpretation of the traditional Japanese kaiseki-style dining experience. The beverage program is a ritualistic experience that pairs perfectly with Chef Samuel Clonts ever-changing tasting menus. Clonts and his service team present a near-performative experience for diners, delighting guests with their unrivaled knowledge and artistry at every course. The gorgeously appointed 8-seat bar provides a warm and intimate environment in which to enjoy the meal, with hand-picked glassware sourced from vendors in Tokyo adorning the surrounding walls.
