Tehuti Ma’at is in the third year of the Organic Food for the People initiative. We started this Urban Farm mission with the rehabilitation of this dilapidated garden in the historical WEEKSVILLE community, now known as Tehuti Ma’at Community Garden. We are working toward transforming Tehuti Ma’at Garden and healing space into a thriving farm!
We founded this organization to provide educational resources to predominately black inner city neighborhoods. We began this Organic Food for the People urban farm program as a tangible step toward racial, economic, environmental and social justice. This work is a holistic solution to the violence and health issues plaguing the neighborhood, including diabetes and obesity. Tehuti Ma’at serves as a resource mechanism to foster political, social, and economic empowerment through healing, art & education.
