The Slow Down – Slow Food NYC’s Spring Soiree

May 13 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

$125 – $225

Join Slow Food NYC for their largest fundraiser of the year, the 8th Annual Slow Down, to toasting to another year of good, clean, and fair food education programs across the city. Hosted at Lighthouse in Williamsburg, the evening’s festivities will feature music, wine, beer, a signature cocktail, silent auction with unique slow food experiences, and seasonal small bites from local producers & artisans.

The ‘Spring Soiree’ also celebrates the 2019 Snailblazer honoree Naama Tamir, owner of Lighthouse and Lighthouse Outpost. Naama is a fierce advocate and organizer for systems building surrounding sustainable restaurant practices in NYC.

The ‘Snailblazer’ award is a designation granted to those leaders in the farm-to-table movement committed to a local, sustainable, and fair food system. Each year Slow Food NYC recognize the work of the next Snailblazer with a convivial evening of food, drink, and music, bringing together New Yorkers for one spirited evening.

General Admission tickets are $125 and includes specialty ‘slow’ cocktails, wine + beer + light bites. VIP tickets are $225 holders and includes a Oyster Tasting/Cocktail Hour from 6-7pm before the main event.

All proceeds from the annual Slow Down benefit Slow Food NYC’s programs including Urban Harvest, which supports good food education and school garden programs in 13 NYC schools and a summer educational farm in East New York, Brooklyn. Urban Harvest reaches over 2,000 school children in New York City each year.
