Reminiscent of the old New York tradition of pushcarts, Jewish inspired foods will be lining the street with noshes past, present and re-interpreted at the 5th annual Taste of Jewish Culture Street Festival. This signature event of the Workmen’s Circle will be held on 6th Avenue, between 48th and 49th Streets, 11am to 6pm.

This year’s theme is “Diversity is Delicious” and will highlight the many contributions that immigrants have made and continue to make to Jewish and New York cuisine.

Participating vendors include: Ben’s Kosher Deli, Bonsai Kakigori, Breads Bakery, Cooking for my People, Danny Macaroons, Dr. Pickle, Empanada Papa, Glazed and Confused, GlutenFree.Sy, Harlem Seafood Soul, Krafted by Karli, La Newyorkina, Mysttik Masaala, Nachos Libre, P.O.P. Cake Shop, Paprika Kosher, Raw BK Organic Kitchen, Rebecca’s Cake Pops, Redefined.Coffee, Stache of Goods, StuFFfed, Wandering Que, What’s the ‘Dillaz, Zabari Catering, and Zola Bakes. The Workmen’s Circle also will be spritzing up egg creams.

As is past years, some of the vendors will be producing culinary mashups including: Reuben Quesadillas, Yemeni Tacos, Jewish Themed Cake Pops, Land of Milk and Honey Kakigōri, Babka Ice Cream, Salmon Po’ Boy, Pastrami Sliders, Charlotte Russe Push-Up Pops, and more!

Food won’t be the only thing on the menu: the festival will feature performances by Aaron Alexander & NY Klezmer Series All-Stars with dance leader Sarah Myerson, a special performance by the Fiddler on the Roof cast presented by the National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene, and interactive “Instant Yiddish” with Kolya Borodulin.
