Taste of Jewish Culture Street Festival
June 16 @ 11:00 am - 6:00 pmFree
Reminiscent of the old New York tradition of pushcarts, Jewish inspired foods will be lining the street with noshes past, present and re-interpreted at the sixth annual Taste of Jewish Culture Street Festival. This signature event of The Workmen’s Circle will be held on 6th Avenue, between 48th and 49th Streets, from 11am to 6pm.
This year’s theme is “Diversity is Delicious” and will highlight the many contributions that immigrants have made and continue to make to Jewish and New York cuisine.
This year’s vendors include: Glazed and Confused, Harlem Seafood Soul, It’s a Cuppie, La Newyorkina, Nachos Libre, What’s the Dillaz?, Ess-a-Bagel, The Humble Toast, Oy Benne!, Empanada Papa, Home Sweet Hummus, Doctor Pickle, Happy Tummy Asia, Pierogi Boys, The Matzoh Project, and others.
Food won’t be the only thing on the menu: the festival will feature performances by the New York Klezmer Series All-Stars and Katherine Sackman of Tkiya: the Jewish Community Initiative. From Cupcake with Love will be showcasing lox and bagel rings and challah jewelry, Jerise Fogel Lettering and Artwork will showcase papercut images of Jewish cultural heroes…plus lots more to see and do!
