This summer, art won’t be the only thing that transforms the space of Court Tree Gallery. Hosted by the Court Tree Collective, the Summer Pop-Up Canteen and Mural Exhibition will kick off on July 19th and will be open Fridays through August 9th, from 5-10pm. During that time, the gallery will be converted into an Asian-Style Tapas Canteen with beer, wine, and a seasonal beverage list. The menu will change each week, rotating different tapas plates, provided by local Brooklyn chefs.
In addition to the Tapas Canteen, Court Tree will be exhibiting an original mural created specifically for the gallery. This mural, made by native New York artist Jeremy Yuto Nakamura, will be 6 feet tall by 22 feet wide, stretching nearly the length of the entire gallery. A long term member of Court Tree Collective, Yuto’s free-form sketch style makes for a captivating scene, where eye-catching images and characters can be found across every inch of the mural. It’s for this reason that, in addition to the sale of tapas bites and drinks, limited edition prints of various sections of the mural will be available for purchase.
The Summer Pop-Up Canteen will run 4 consecutive Fridays: July 19th, July 26th, August 2nd, and August 9th, from 5-10pm. Walk-ins are welcomed, but seating is limited. The gallery is offering an early bird ticket special that include a reserved seat, 2 tapas plates and a drink for $20.
