NYC Food Waste Fair
May 23 @ 10:00 am - 6:00 pm$20 – $50
Calling all NYC food, beverage, and hospitality professionals!
The NYC Food Waste Fair is an interactive experience connecting you with the resources and knowledge you need to get to zero food waste.
Held at the Brooklyn Navy Yard, the event will equip business owners, managers and the public with the knowledge, tools and connections to build a waste prevention plan from scratch, or take existing programs to the next level.
The exhibit hall will showcase over 80 food waste solution exhibitors and experts helping address all your “how do I?” questions — we’ll make it easier than ever to save money and embrace sustainable operations in your business.
This year, the Fair will highlight pioneering food solution providers in the Innovation Corner sponsored by Closed Loop Partners. The selected companies include: Atlas Organics, Cambridge Crops, Farmshelf, Misfits Market, Natural Machines, and YourLocal. In addition, more than 50 exhibitors will highlight their food waste prevention and recovery solutions, including donation services, inventory management, waste auditing, hauling, on-site processing and digestion, compostable products, animal feed solutions, food-from-scraps products and catering, among others.
In the week leading up to the Fair, there will be a series of hands-on workshops taking place around the city May 16th-22nd. For more details on the Workshop Series, click: www.foodwastefair.nyc/workshops-2019
Admission to the Food Waste Fair ranges from $20 to $50 with discounted rates available for low income members of our community. Proceeds support programs by the The Foundation for New York’s Strongest, including a microgrant program to help businesses establish food waste prevention, recovery and recycling programs.
