School for Line Cooks – FREE Job Skills Training

September 19, 2017 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]FREE Job Skills Training!

Are you interested in having a career in the restaurant industry but don’t have the experience that NYC restaurants usually require?  Can’t afford to go to culinary school?  Do you already have some culinary experience or education but need a refresher on the skills chefs are looking for?

Come take our FREE culinary job skills training course at The Chef’s Connection School for Line Cooks.

Restaurants are in desperate need of skilled line cooks.  This course is two weeks of intensive, hands-on training in a real kitchen from professional chefs.  Students will be taught the basic food preparation skills needed to begin work in professional kitchens.  Learn from the best: the curriculum comes directly from New York City chefs who not only believe in the philosophy of the program, but who are also looking to hire fresh and enthusiastic talent.

Some of the program’s guest chefs have included:

John Delucie, Chef/Owner of The Empire Diner
Stephen Yen, Corporate Chef City Acres
John Beatty, Executive Chef at Catch
Chris Jaeckle, Chef/Owner at UMA
Joseph “JJ” Johnson, Chef de Cuisine at Minton’s
Anthony Ricco, Executive Chef William Vale Hotel
Bryce Shuman, Executive Chef at Betony
And many more.

If you are good, we guarantee that you will get a job.

The Course focuses on the following:

    • Fundamental Cooking Techniques
      • Formal Classroom Training and Culinary Terminology
      • Knife Skills
      • Mise en place / Organizational Skills
      • Work Ethics, Behavior, Attitude

Must be 18 to 40 years old.

Must be willing to commit to full-time work after the course is finished, and must display enthusiasm, ambition, and a passion for learning. If you are not ready for a job that requires you to put in 8-10 hours in a hot kitchen working as hard as you can, please don’t respond to this ad.

The work is hard, the hours are long, and the pay at the beginning is not great; but the opportunities to grow are there for anyone who works hard.

Only 16 applicants can be accepted per course, but this event is held multiple times throughout the year.  Enrollment is selective, so don’t be afraid to show us your passion for being in the kitchen!  Only serious candidates will be considered.
Interviews for acceptance into the program will be held Tuesday, September 19 at 4:00pm in the Food & Finance High School Auditorium, 525 West 50th Street.  To sign up, send an email to schoolforlinecooks@thechefsconnection.com.   Be sure to include your name, phone number, email address, and your reasons for wanting to be a part of the program.

Classes will begin September 22 and take place over ten sessions, Monday thru Friday from 4-7pm.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
