Food Tank Summit NYC: Focusing on Food Loss and Food Waste

Food Tank, ReFED, and The Rockefeller Foundation are hosting the inaugural Food Tank Summit NYC on Wednesday, September 13 at The Greene Space. This one-day event will feature more than three dozen different speakers from the food and agriculture field. Researchers, farmers, chefs, policy makers, government officials, and students will come together for discussions on diverse topics. The theme for the Summit is Focusing on Food Loss and Food Waste.

On Thursday, Food Tank is sponsoring a FREE dance fitness event and food waste awareness event in support of GrowNYC called Garjana in Washington Square Park. Garjana is a one-hour experience led by all Broadway performers, using original music, and innovative props. Garjana event’s promoting fitness and healthy lifestyles have been selling out all over NYC receiving rave reviews from Billboard Magazine, Time Out New York and others. Speakers include Green Bronx Machine’s Stephen Ritz and Edible Manhattan’s Brian Halweil. All ages from 12:00-1:30PM. For more details, click: foodtank.com/Garjana
