EatingWell Future of Food Summit

Top industry and consumer leaders – including Ali Bouzari, Marc Oshima, Sophie Egan and Jessie Price – come together to discuss how climate change, agriculture and technology are transforming our food system at the EatingWell Future of Food Summit on September 18th.

As per EatingWell and International Food Information Council, organizers of the EatingWell Future of Food Summit:

EatingWell and IFIC will host the 2019 EatingWell Future of Food Summit, featuring panel discussions between thought leaders—academics, nutrition experts, trend forecasters, farmers, food industry professionals—to help explain how our food system needs to evolve and transform in the years ahead. This summit will take place in tandem with the release of EatingWell’s October 2019 issue, whose theme is the future of food.

Our food system is at a critical moment. Consumers are rethinking their preferences. Agriculture is being buffeted by climate change and the need to produce food with a lighter impact. Technology—from bioengineered microbes on farms to meat grown in labs—is remaking everything we thought we knew. Meanwhile many Americans struggle to eat a balanced diet that doesn’t contribute to our still-climbing rates of diabetes and heart disease. To tie in with EatingWell’s October 2019 issue, “The Future of Food,” this event will focus on explaining how our food system needs to evolve and transform in the years ahead and how consumers can adopt emerging food technologies to understand the larger environmental impact of this trend.
