27th Annual Chile Pepper Festival

Head over to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden for the hottest tradition of the fall season; the Chile Pepper Festival, now in its 27th year. Sample artisanal hot sauces and condiments, pick fresh peppers from local farm stands and indulge in spicy sweets from the city’s best chile-chocolatiers. Along with the spicy tastings, there’s a full day of hot music from around the world, hot pepper–eating contest, spicy cooking demos, hands-on cooking classes, foodie-friendly tours and talks by BBG gardeners, and activities for children.
Fiery artisanal food vendors include: Bazile Sauce, Cantina Royal Hot Sauce, Forward Roots, Hell’s Kitchen Hot Sauce, Hellgate Farm, JoMart Chocolates, La Newyorkina, Mama Margarita’s Salsa, Pearl Street Caviar, PéKANT Tea Company, Raaka Chocolate, The Spicy Shark, Whimsy & Spice, Zia Hatch Chile Company, and many others!
Festival finishes hot with an all-new evening concert featuring living legends of New Orleans music John “Papa” Gros, blues master Walter “Wolfman’’ Washington, Big Chief Monk Boudreaux, and the Soul Queen of New Orleans, Irma Thomas.
Tickets are $30 for adults, $25 for students and seniors, and free for kids under 12 and members.
