8th Annual Dîner en Blanc
Le Dîner en Blanc, the pop-up picnic that started in Paris over nearly 30 years ago, returns to New York City for its eighth consecutive year on Monday, September 17th.
As the name implies, diners, who are dress elegantly and entirely in white, will gather in a secret location and eat together in a mass picnic. In addition to wearing all white, all are asked to bring their own picnic basket, stemware and white dinnerware, white tables and chairs. Over the course of the evening, the diners celebrate amid live music, complete with festive white balloons.
This year, Michelin-starred chef and restaurateur Marc Forgione will be curating special menus [available through Le Dîner en Blanc website,] for those who do not want to prepare their own dinner.
Around 7 PM, guests will wave their white napkins in the air to indicate the beginning of the dinner festivities. Once the dinner concludes, the elegant affair turns into a dance party.
