Eater is hosting 24 Hours in Taipei, a dinner celebrating Taiwanese food, on Wednesday June 5th, from 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM at the Eater Test Kitchen.
As per organizer:
Join Eater and the teams from Win Son, Ho Foods, and 886 for a multi-course, family-style feast celebrating the food culture of Taiwan’s capital city, Taipei. The food we think of as distinctly Taiwanese is in fact a beautiful hodgepodge: Local indigenous flavors and waves of outside influence created the “salty-sweet” trademark of modern Taiwanese cuisine, with basil, garlic, and green onion supercharging nearly every dish. Taipei is the electrifying hub where you can find it all, at any hour of the day.
We invite you to get a taste of the city for one special night, saluting the sugary, herbal, and deeply umami flavors of Taiwan’s cuisine with the help of three of New York’s best Taiwanese-American restaurants. Cocktail pairings will be provided by GN Chan of Double Chicken Please, a traveling cocktail pop-up. The evening will be hosted by Eater’s travel editor Lesley Suter and Travel, Eat, Repeat host Iz Harris, with the upcoming season of the series as well as Eater Travel’s recent Guide to Taipei as inspiration.
