The 13th Annual Food Film Festival returns to AMC Empire 25 in Times Square with another delicious line-up of food films. This is the only festival where guests watch films about food and simultaneously taste the exact dishes they see on the screen…right in their seats! That’s followed by an after-party with more food, drinks and fun, served up by chefs and restaurants from New York City and beyond. The Food Film Festival is a competitive film festival. Hundreds of films from around the world will compete for the coveted “Slotted Spoon Award” in 8 categories: Best Feature Film, Best Short Film, Best Super-Short Film, Best Food Porn Film, The Audience Choice Award, The Made in New York Award, The Food Filmmaker of the Year Award and The Film Foodmaker of the Year Award.
This year, the Festival kicks off exploring flavor intensity on Thursday, October 24 with Edible Adventure #017: Deep Flavor Dive. Friday’s festivities on 10/25 feature the many flavors of New York City with Hometown Heroes: NYC. Saturday, 10/26, celebrates the patchwork of American yum with American Eats: Meats and Treats presented by Schweid & Sons. From ice cream sundaes and burgers to hallacas and catfish, taste the classics from many regions of the US. Finally, the Festival closes on Sunday, 10/27, with Sunday Schmear a celebration of family food tradition, including a special screening of Director Julie Cohen’s The Sturgeon Queens and an After-Party featuring the many flavors of Russ & Daughters.
Festival tickets ($55-$125) are all-inclusive of food, beverages, gift bag and entry to film screenings. VIP Tickets ($100-$125) and Festival-Wide VIP Passes ($399) which include early access to all 4 events are also available. The menus at each event include food celebrated in the films along with beer, wine, and select cocktail pairings.
